HEPES is a zwitterionic natural chemical buffering agent typically utilized in mobileular subculture media. HEPES has greater buffering potential than sodium bicarbonate at physiological pH (7.2 - 7.4) at 37°C. It is typically brought at 10 - 25 mM concentrations (better tiers can also additionally purpose cytotoxicity).
