Mc Coy's media were originally formulated to grow and support lymphocytes. This latest modification produces a medium identical to RPMI 1629. McCoy's 5A media promote unlimited cell reproduction of Walker 256 carcinoma cells.

Furthermore, they are excellent media for the growth of:Leukocytes, Biopsy tissues, A broad range of human and rat normal or transformed cell types, Most current primary and continuous cell lines.
